Attorney Daniel L. Olsen, Esq.
“When you first meet with me, I take the time to listen and really understand why you need legal services. It is my mission to give you the peace of mind that can only come with an attorney that personally cares about you.”

Focusing on strong communication skills, proven legal strategies and good old fashion hard work has established Attorney Daniel Olsen as one of the best lawyers in Northern California. This strong work ethic has resulted in Dan being named multiple times to Sacramento Magazine’s Top Attorneys list.
Born in Concord, California, Dan is a lifelong Northern Californian who has called Sacramento home for the last two decades. His hard work and dedication to education has allowed Dan to proudly say he is an alumnus from three top academic institutes in California, University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, UC Davis, and De LaSalle High School in Concord.
It was during his time at UC Davis that Dan prepared himself for the heat of the courtroom, working as a member of the elite wildland firefighting group, the Mendocino Hotshots. The combination of long arduous shifts, conditions requiring a quick, calm, and calculated decision process developed the hard work ethic that molded Dan’s approach to the court room.
While attending the McGeorge School of Law, Dan once again tapped into that hard work ethic and was one of the few students chosen to join the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office as a law clerk where he worked in the Felony Preliminary Hearing and Major Narcotics units. Never content with just good enough, he also interned for the Sacramento District Attorney’s office in the Misdemeanor, Juvenile, and Domestic Violence units.
After graduating law school, Dan continued serving the public as a Deputy District Attorney for the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office, conducting numerous jury and bench trials. In 2010, Dan felt that his legal knowledge could better help those who didn’t have a voice by moving to a private practice.
Always looking to improve his knowledge, in 2012 Dan apprenticed with a top estate planning law firm in Sacramento. Since completing his apprenticeship, he has continued to grow his private practice, partnering with Michael Abrate to form the Abrate & Olsen Law Group.
He continues to serve clients in estate planning, criminal defense, and business formation with the same dedication and hard work that he has always followed. Thanks to the results that he has provided for many clients, in 2014 he was named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Lawyers Directory.
“I understand there is a negative perception of lawyers. From the moment we first meet, I want you to have the piece of mind that I am 100 percent dedicated to serving you by providing the best legal counsel specifically tailored to your unique situation.”

Reviews and Testimonials
“Attorney Dan Olsen is the best resource I know for legal questions and solutions. Although he focuses on criminal matters like DUI’s, he also has a branch of his firm providing high level trusts and family wealth planning. The referrals I have sent said ‘it was a great experience’ and ‘he solved my problem.’ Even when the legal question is not the focus of his firm’s specialty he has a network of relationships to help you with your problem.”
